Meet the Nelsens

I’ve been writing this blog/journal for almost a year now. And at first, I was not sure if I wanted to share who I was. I really wasn’t even sure if I wanted to share my writing but there have been so many changes in the last year that I need to share it, even if it’s to the general public. My goal is to get my thoughts and feeling out in a way that can hopefully be encouraging and empowering to other women going through similar situations.

Jethro and I met the summer of 2015, we were engaged by September 2016 and married by that December. December of 2019 we welcomed our baby boy, Roger, to the world.

Jethro enjoys spending time working out, being outdoors, and “cold creamy things”… His words not mine! (Examples: Ice cream, fresh milk, cream)

Roger enjoys feeding, getting his diaper changed, and having mama sing his 90s worship songs.

I enjoy spending time with Jethro, being socially awkward, and eating fried chicken.

From now on, I will be using our names when writing about us. So the suspense is over… unless you already know us.

Hi, I’m Vero! I grew up in Mexico and came to the U.S. as a child. From there I’ve been living in the state of Nebraska, but don’t get fooled! I think the nearest cow to us is about 30-50 minutes away. I got married in December 2016. I was 19. Most people don’t make that kind of decisions when they are 19, but I knew what I wanted. My husband and I are happily married, but we do have our own struggles. (Hence, the title.) We are just two Christians trying to figure out how to live on this earth… and raise our baby boy. I hope that this blog can be a blessing to people and that at the end of the day they find joy and comfort in Him. Thanks for being here. You are loved.
